The Contractors Insurance Safety Council (CISC) is one of the oldest construction insurance groups in California. Its members comprise the seven Builders Exchanges listed on our Members Organizations web page. These Exchanges have united to provide outstanding workers compensation support services to their members who are insured through the State Compensation Insurance Fund. These services include underwriting reviews, safety materials, and up-to-date communication on changes in the laws affecting workers compensation insurance. Member Exchanges meet to review company loss histories, recommend appropriate levels of action to be taken and then work with the individual policyholders to improve safety performance, training and compliance. Regular meetings of the Exchange representatives foster high levels of communication and encourage the sharing of new and effective safety materials and marketing ideas. The overall goal of CISC is to promote a safe workplace for employees in the field of construction. By working together, the CISC provides comprehensive services otherwise unavailable and encourages construction firms to join the State Compensation Insurance Fund through membership in their local Builders Exchange.
